Paris Day 2: Notre Dame and Left Bank

Day 2: It was great to get a good nights rest. We did not get out of
the hotel till 11am. We had lunch at a little restaurant next to the
Arc de Triomphe then headed down to Notre Dame. We went through the
church taking lots of pictures and video. We then headed across the
river to the "Left Bank."

The LB has been a hippie hangout since WW2. It is filled with cafes
and used bookstores. We went through a few other churches and
basically just walked around till dinner. We ate at this French
restaurant... the funniest thing was they did not have knobs on the
sinks in the bathroom they had a pedal that you pressed with your feet
to get the water to come out. I figured it out, Tiff didn't (eww, haha).

We then went and got hot chocolate (at starbucks) and waited till
dark. Then we went back to Notre Dame to take pictures at night.
Finally we went to the Louvre to snapped some pics of the pyramids
lite up. We took lots of great shots because it was not crowded at
all. It has been a little cold but this is a great time to sightsee.

  1. You better be wearing your American flag shirts with pride!

If you have a day to kill when you don't have anything planned in Rome you might make your way over to Tivoli. There is a place called Villa d'este thats pretty cool (huge european garden with lots of fountains and a museum). Hadrian's Villa is also on the way (ruins, and a lot of historical references). It is outside of Rome so you may not want to spend a day there.

Aside from all the churches, structures, and fountains in Rome... make sure you hit the nightlife in Campo De Fiore (sp). It was one of our favorite places to go at night.

    Have fun... I'm jealous.
